tl;dv has one of the most unusual pricing structures in the AI meeting assistant space. The free plan is generous. Pro at $18/month is reasonable. Then Business jumps to $59/month - a 3.3x increase over Pro.

That jump isn’t a mistake. It reflects tl;dv’s split identity: Pro is a meeting note-taking tool. Business is a conversation intelligence platform. They’re different products at different price points.

Here’s exactly what you get at each tier and whether the Business premium is worth it.

Free Plan: Generous With a Cliff

tl;dv’s free plan lets you record unlimited meetings on Zoom, Google Meet, or Microsoft Teams. You get transcriptions, AI summaries, and video clips - all at no cost.

The cliff: recordings auto-delete after 90 days. There’s no way around this on the free plan. If you need to reference a call from 4 months ago, it’s gone.

For short-term use (evaluating the product, recording a few calls you’ll review soon, sharing clips from recent meetings), the free plan works well. For anyone building a long-term meeting archive, the storage limit forces an upgrade.

The free plan also includes tl;dv’s clip-sharing feature, which is one of the best in the category. You can timestamp key moments and create shareable video clips without paying anything.

Pro Plan ($18/month annual): The Meeting Note-Taker

Pro removes the storage cliff and adds features for people who use tl;dv daily:

  • Extended storage (no 90-day deletion)
  • Custom AI meeting templates
  • AI-generated reports
  • Full integration access

At $18/user/month (annual), Pro is competitively priced against Fireflies Pro ($10/month) and Fathom Team ($15/month). The main difference: Pro does NOT include CRM sync, conversation intelligence, or coaching features. Those are all Business-only.

Who Pro is for: Internal teams that need reliable meeting documentation with templates and long-term storage. Product teams, engineering teams, leadership teams - anyone who needs structured meeting notes but doesn’t need sales analytics.

Who Pro isn’t for: Sales teams. Without CRM sync or conversation intelligence, Pro is just a transcription tool with good clip sharing. You need Business for sales value.

Business Plan ($59/month annual): The Gong Alternative

Business is where tl;dv becomes a conversation intelligence platform. The feature additions over Pro:

  • CRM sync (HubSpot and Salesforce)
  • Playbook adoption tracking - scores each call against your defined sales methodology (MEDDIC, BANT, SPIN, etc.)
  • AI coaching scorecards - automated call quality scoring with improvement suggestions
  • Team analytics - compare top performers against the rest of the team
  • Objection tracking - pattern analysis across all team calls
  • Deal analytics - pipeline-level insights from conversation data

These are features that Gong charges $100-130/user/month for. tl;dv delivers roughly 80% of Gong’s core functionality at 40-50% of the price.

Is Business Worth 3x the Price?

For a 10-person sales team:

  • Pro: $180/month (meeting notes, no sales features)
  • Business: $590/month (full conversation intelligence)

That’s $410/month more. The question is whether coaching analytics, playbook tracking, and CRM sync are worth $41/user/month to you.

Business is worth it if:

  • You’re currently paying for Gong and want to cut costs (saves $400-700/month for a 10-person team)
  • Your sales manager actively coaches using call recordings
  • You’ve invested in a defined sales methodology and want to measure adoption
  • CRM sync is essential (there’s no mid-tier option for just CRM)

Business isn’t worth it if:

  • You just need meeting notes and CRM sync. Fireflies Business gives you both for $19/user/month.
  • Your team doesn’t follow a structured sales methodology. Playbook tracking has no value if there’s no playbook.
  • You have a small team (under 5). The analytics are less useful with fewer data points.

Enterprise: For Large Organizations

Enterprise pricing is custom and includes:

  • Custom security and compliance
  • Advanced admin controls
  • Dedicated support
  • Custom integrations

Hidden Costs and Gotchas

No mid-tier for CRM sync. The jump from “no CRM sync” (Pro, $18/mo) to “CRM sync” (Business, $59/mo) is steep. There’s no $30-40/month plan that gives you just CRM integration without the full coaching suite. If CRM sync is your only need, Fireflies Business at $19/month is a much cheaper path.

Monthly billing is expensive. Business monthly is $98/user/month vs $59 annual. That’s a 66% premium for monthly flexibility. Annual commitment saves significant money but locks you in.

Platform limitations. tl;dv only works with Zoom, Google Meet, and Microsoft Teams. If your team uses Webex, BlueJeans, or Skype, tl;dv won’t cover those calls regardless of which plan you choose.

Which Plan Should You Pick?

Evaluating tl;dv: Start with Free. Record a few meetings, test the clip sharing, see if the AI summaries meet your needs.

Individual or internal team use: Pro at $18/month. Good value for meeting documentation with no sales-specific needs.

Sales team that needs coaching at scale: Business at $59/month. Compare against Gong (more expensive) and Fathom Business ($25/month, less coaching depth).

Sales team that just needs CRM sync: Skip tl;dv. Fireflies Business ($19/month) or Fathom Business ($25/month) offer CRM integration at a fraction of tl;dv Business pricing.
